11th October 2006 / Novels / Stealing Life
Abaddon have released full details for STEALING LIFE, the fantasy novel I’ve written for their Dreams Of Inan series. That’s the cover on the right, by 2000AD stalwart Mark Harrison.
If you’ve read A KIND OF PEACE, the first Inan book by Andy Boot, you’re in for a bit of a surprise with STEALING LIFE. Where PEACE was epic, mystical and global in scale, LIFE is street-level and noir-ish, with more of a focus on high tech and the pulp roots of the Abaddon line. It’s full of sleazy characters, corrupt politicians and dirty deeds done dirt cheap.
STEALING LIFE will be 320pp (roughly the same as the other books in the Abaddon line), priced £6.99 ($7.99 US) and go on sale January 2007 in UK bookstores. I assume the US release will follow a month or two afterwards, but if I hear any different I’ll let you know. The Abaddon launch titles have apparently done rather well – here’s hoping that continues so I get chance to write the sequel, STEALING ICE…
